Campers will help break down the camp at the end of the session.

A: YES! We provide 3 vegetarian meals a day as well as snacks. You may bring your own snacks if you like in a ziplock bag with your name on it. as well. Snacks must be kept in the camp cargo van, NOT in tents! Please let us know about any special dietary needs. Please bring the following items for eating and drinking; you will be responsible for cleaning/reusing them, and taking them home with you after camp: 1 plate, 1 bowl, 1 cup, 1 fork, 1 knife, 1 spoon. Let us know before camp if this is a problem.

Q: Do I have to attend camp for the entire time?

A: YES! The curriculum is designed as a sequence. If you miss the first day or the last you will miss out on important material. In addition, Peace Camp is about building community and that is difficult to do when people are not committed to the entire session. We expect campers to attend all workshops in which they are physically able to participate.

Q: What if I have a physical disability?

A: We encourage everyone to participate. We will make the workshops and site as accommodating to persons with disabilities as we can. If you have concerns or questions, please give us a call as soon as possible.

Peace Camp participants will have the chance to share with and learn from each other in a community of young activists committed to treating each other fairly and non-judgmentally. Our curriculum development comes from experience with San Pedro Neighbors for Peace and Justice, the Ruckus Society, the Coalition Against Militarism in the Schools (CAMS), the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, and work against the war on Vietnam in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s.
